The MIC 1×6 SFP+ Cage Assembly is a ganged, hot-swappable I/O interconnect: a linear six-port nickel-silver shielding cage + 120-position right-angle press-fit receptacle + outer PMMA light pipe array, shipped as one pick-and-place unit. It accepts SFP, SFP+, and SFP28 optical transceivers, DAC and AOC cables, and mounts to the host PCB with zero soldering.
The 1×6 linear format is the industry-default uplink row for managed switches — pair eight of these on a 48-port 10G ToR switch, and you get 48 SFP+ lanes with clean, label-friendly faceplate spacing. The outer-only light pipe keeps LED status visible while preserving the metal cage wall as a continuous EMI shield (the usual weak point in inner-LP cages).
